Garage Laborer

Job Description

• RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare orders of materials and equipment for worksites;
  • Receive deliveries and verify received goods;
  • Operate a forklift to move materials;
  • Run errands and make deliveries as needed;
  • Ensure the upkeep and organization of the yard and warehouse;
  • Support mechanics: prepare parts and clean machines;
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment;
  • Possible travel to worksites;
  • Perform any other related tasks tied to garage operations.

• REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hold a valid driver’s license;
  • WHMIS 2015;
  • Hold a forklift certification card;
  • Excellent physical condition, reliable, and ready to work in all weather conditions, both outdoors and indoors, without hesitation for physical tasks or getting hands dirty;
  • Autonomous, resourceful, and proactive;
  • Knowledge of power tools, drill, and circular saw;
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with different departments;
  • Follow occupational health and safety rules.

• EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • DEC or vocational diploma in mechanics (an asset) ;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy equipment mechanics.

• ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (may vary as needed)
  • Forty (40) hours per week
  • Overtime: possible in unforeseen situations.
